The Annual General Asssembly - IGCCI

We are gathered here today, on May 28, 2026, at the Annual General Assembly of the Israel-Greece Chamber of
Commerce, during a period that is far from simple for all of us. For many, these are not merely statistics or
headlines-they are open wounds in the hearts of families, society, and our nation. Therefore, I would like to begin my
remarks with respect, humility, and hope.
The ongoing attacks and criticism directed at us as a country and as a people show no signs of abating; on the contrary,
they continue to intensify. It often seems that we, too, contribute to this reality. There is a great deal of confusion, and it
appears that more than one hand is at work in creating and sustaining that confusion. I was once told that even in chaos,
there is a certain order-and indeed, that is true. Yet alongside the challenges, there is also pride. Pride in our resilience,
perseverance, and continued efforts.
The year 2025 was a challenging one, but also an exceptionally productive year for the Chamber’s activities. Despite the
circumstances, we successfully implemented our entire annual events program. We held conferences and networking
events, organized and led sector-focused delegations, advised Chamber members, connected business initiatives, forged
new relationships, and disseminated reliable and accurate information.
Throughout the year, we handled dozens of inquiries from Israeli and Greek companies, facilitated connections with
institutions, organizations, and businesses in both countries, and continued to deepen the business and cultural
understanding between the two markets.
According to official sources, bilateral trade between Israel and Greece in 2025 amounted to approximately USD 1.5
billion, excluding direct investments and government-to-government (G2G) transactions. The figures indicate an increase
in Greek exports to Israel, while Israeli exports to Greece totaled approximately USD 400 million. These data provide us
with strong momentum and reinforce our commitment to improving the trade balance and increasing Israeli exports to
Greece. Bilateral trade between Israel and Greece is expected to grow by approximately 5%-12% in 2026 compared to
2025.
Against the backdrop of the security and economic challenges that Israel has faced-and continues to face, with
indications that these challenges may intensify-as well as the challenges Greece encounters in the Balkans and the

Eastern Mediterranean, we are witnessing a deepening of cooperation in the fields of security, cybersecurity, and border
protection.
As Robin Sharma said: “Dream big. Start small. Act now.” And we would add: “Never stop.”
