Summary of the Israel-Greece Business Networking Event

Networking Event Summary - Israel-Greece Chamber of Commerce
June 10, 2026
Residence of the Ambassador of Greece to Israel, Herzliya
An Evening of Connections, Opportunities, and New Partnerships
On Wednesday, June 10, 2026, the Israel-Greece Chamber of Commerce (IGCCI) held a
special social and business networking event, graciously hosted by H.E. Ambassador Maya
Solomou, Ambassador of Greece to Israel, who opened her home in Herzliya to Chamber
members, together with the Consul of Greece in Tel Aviv, the Economic Attaché of Greece to
Israel, the First Secretary of the Economic and Commercial Affairs Office, business leaders,
entrepreneurs, and friends of Greece.
Good food, good wine, good people.
Approximately 60 guests attended the event, which brought together leading representatives
of the Israeli and Greek business communities in a warm, personal, and welcoming
atmosphere. Throughout the evening, participants engaged in professional discussions,
forged new connections, renewed existing relationships, and explored opportunities for
collaboration in trade, innovation, investment, tourism, technology, and regional initiatives.
Among the participants was Ms. Suzana Francis, representative of the Greece-Israel
Chamber of Commerce, who traveled from Athens to attend the event and take part in the
meetings and professional discussions held throughout the evening, as part of the joint effort
to further strengthen business ties between the two countries.
Remarks and Presentation to the Ambassador
During the evening, Mr. Cobi Bitton, CEO of the Chamber, delivered welcoming remarks to
the Ambassador and guests. In his speech, he highlighted the shared values that unite the
Jewish and Greek peoples, including mutual responsibility, community commitment,
friendship, and generosity. He also emphasized the connection between the Jewish concept
of mutual responsibility and the Greek value of Philotimo—a deeply rooted cultural principle
embodying honor, generosity, dignity, and responsibility toward others.

As a token of appreciation and gratitude, the Israel-Greece Chamber of Commerce
presented the Ambassador with a meaningful gift inspired by the work of Nachum Gutman:
an artistic ceramic tile depicting the landscapes of Jerusalem, accompanied by a matching
commemorative mug. The gesture symbolized the enduring bond of culture, friendship, and
partnership between Israel and Greece.
What Did the Participants Say?
The feedback received following the event reflects the unique atmosphere and the value
created by the gathering:
