Summary of the Annual General Assembly of the IGCCI 2024 for the Year 2023

The annual general assembly of the Israel-Greece Chamber of Commerce was held on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at the conference hall of the Meitar law firm in Ramat Gan, marking the fourth year in which they hosted the event. This year's assembly took on a different tone, being held amidst the aftermath of Operation Iron Swords, with a symbolic empty yellow chair placed on stage.

Despite the challenging situation, there was an impressive attendance of about 80 participants, including board members led by the Chamber’s Chairman, Savy Mionis, the hosts from Meitar Law Firm, senior Chamber officials, long-time and new members, the honorary president, and other distinguished guests. The event was honored by the presence of the Greek Ambassador to Israel, Kyriakos Loukakis, along with the economic attaché and his deputy.

The event began at 4:30 PM with an informal gathering, accompanied by a lavish buffet provided by Meitar Law Firm, and a professional photographer. Kobi Bitton, the Chamber’s CEO, opened the annual assembly and led the event until its conclusion at 7:30 PM. Ambassador Loukakis delivered a speech, emphasizing the strong bilateral relations between Greece and Israel, highlighting not only tourism but also security, economy, innovation, and transportation.

Israel's Ambassador to Greece, Noam Katz, sent his greetings via a video message, which was presented to the assembly, along with video greetings from the President of the Greece-Israel Chamber of Commerce and the CEOs of FORUM SA and RMI, who have cooperation agreements with the Chamber on exhibitions and conferences.

Honorary President Efraim Fortis and senior partner Amichai Orekhavi from Meitar praised the Chamber’s achievements, noting the creative initiatives and the strategic partnership between Greece and Israel. Bitton highlighted that the Chamber’s activities extend far beyond real estate and tourism, involving sectors such as the food and beverage industry, green energy, cyber protection, advanced technology, smart cities, and more.

The assembly concluded with a lecture by guest speaker Tal Reshef on business cultures, focusing on the Greek aspect. The 2023 activity overview and the 2024 agenda were presented through a detailed presentation.
